In order to inform its work on the topic of horticultural peat, the Committee attended Teagasc's Food Research Centre in Ashtown, where the delegation heard about the Beyond Peat project. This project involves using organic bio-resources and novel technologies to develop customised and sustainable peat replacements for crop production.
