Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Chiropody Services.

Pat Carey

Question:

469 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on the absence of a dedicated chiropody school here; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21494/01]

The need for the establishment of a school of chiropody is an important issue for the chiropody and podiatry profession in the context of the establishment of a system of statutory registration for the profession, and is to be considered further by my Department, in line with the recommendations of the Expert Group on Various Health Professions.
