111. Deputy Bríd Smith asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if firearms assigned to the National Parks and Wildlife Service are registered with his Department. [41012/17]

Minister of State at the Department of Justice and Equality

Firearms certificates are a matter for An Garda Síochána. I am advised by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and An Garda Síochána that rangers within the NPWS are licensed individually by An Garda Síochána to hold specified firearms for use in their duties.
