771. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Health for an update on the progress of the Public Health (Tobacco and Nicotine Inhaling Products) Bill 2024; when the general scheme will be referred to the Oireachtas Health Committee for pre-legislative scrutiny; for an update on his plans to publish a regulatory impact assessment with regard to the planned legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The report of the public consultation on the further regulation of nicotine inhaling products and tobacco products will be published in the coming weeks. The results of that consultation, along with evidence reviews and legal advice, are informing the General Scheme for a Bill which I am currently developing and which I will bring to Government early in the next term.
