Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Health the total value of funding expended by his Department through its medical card scheme and other Department-funded schemes on the purchase of medications manufactured by a company (details supplied) in 2023 and to date in 2024; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
