74. Deputy Niall Collins asked the Minister for Transport if the radar and associated communications infrastructure at a location (details supplied) has been decommissioned and no longer in use; if not, the plans for same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39306/24]

The maintenance and operation of radar and communications infrastructure for civil air traffic services is the responsibility of AirNav Ireland, the national air navigation service provider.

While no communications infrastructure is present on Gallow Hill, there are currently operational radar and communications facilities operating in the adjacent area of Woodcock Hill operated by AirNav Ireland.

The equipment present on Woodcock Hill is essential equipment required for the provision of air traffic management services in the surrounding area. There are no plans to decommission this equipment, with plans for the system to be in operation for at least the next 25 years and likely much longer.
