Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Health to provide a breakdown of the amount expended by his Department on consultancies in 2023 and to date in 2024; the company engaged; and the nature of the work conducted by the consultancy on his Department’s behalf, in tabular form. The Department's total expenditure from Subhead A7 - Consultancy for 2023 and to date in 2024 is as per the tables attached.

It is the policy in the Department only to engage the services of external consultants where highly specialised skills are not available within the Department and when such an approach is felt to be more appropriate and cost-effective.
