The Tillage Sector has been allocated additional funding in both 2024 and 2025, above the annual €20m already provided via the Cap Strategic Programme for both the Protein and Straw Incorporation Measures.

The additional Tillage Top Up and Unharvested Crop Loss expenditure of €14.3M realised in early 2024, was in respect of cereal crops planted during Winter 22 - Spring 23 season.

The Tillage Support measure of €30m recently announced as part of Budget 2025 will be based on Tillage and Horticulture crops planted during Winter 23 - Spring 24 season.

A residual maintenance payment in respect of Tillage area converted in 2023 and maintained into 2024 estimated at €1.4m, will also be paid in 2024.
