Deputy Richard Bruton asked the Minister for Health how his Department and the HSE plans to widen access to continuous glucose monitoring technology for people with Type 1 diabetes to improve their diabetes management and quality of life; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medical products; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
