Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Education the number of civil servants, by grade, in her Department who were on a career break in 2023 and 2024; the number of those who in 2023 and 2024 were on a career break of five years or more; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerThe information requested by the Deputy, is as follows, at the end of December 2023, 30 staff were on career break, with 4 more than 5 years. Where staff are more than 5 years, my department engages with them to determine if they are returning or resigning.
