428. Deputy Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire asked the Minister for Education to provide an update on the need for capital funding for an extension for a school (details supplied) for the purpose of providing additional special classes. [44608/24]
View answerThe school referred to by the Deputy was approved to enter the Department’s pipeline of school buildings for a project to provide 2 Classroom SEN Base. The project has been devolved to the school authority for delivery.
A Stage 2b architectural report was received by my Department and reviewed from both a technical and cost perspective. The review was completed in August 2024 and the project was advanced to the tender stage.
It is now within the remit of the school authority to progress this project accordingly.
