Deputy Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the average duration spent in IPAS accommodation to date by international protection applicants and beneficiaries that applied for international protection in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and to date in 2024, in tabular form. Currently, there are over 32,000 people accommodated in the International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) system as a whole compared with approximately 8,700 people at the end of February 2022.

The following table contains the average duration of stay for International Protection (IP) applicants who made their application between 2019 - 2024, and who remain in IPAS accommodation as of 29th October 2024.
