Question:

1025. Deputy Holly Cairns asked the Minister for Health if her attention has been drawn to the recent accreditation of a drug (details supplied) and the lack of a generic version of the medication; and if she would consider including the medication under the drugs payment scheme to ensure affordable access to vital treatment. Under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines and devices; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
