61. Deputy Jennifer Whitmore asked the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications if a public consultation will be held on the proposed carbon budgets to 2040; the timeframe for a consultation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2280/25]
View answerUpdated recommendations for the third carbon budget (2031—2035) and provisional recommendations for the fourth carbon budget (2036—2040) were submitted by the Climate Change Advisory Council to my Department in December 2024. The proposals are currently under review, with a view to holding a public consultation on the budgets in Q1 2025.
