Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service. While the Department has conveyed sanction for up to 200 permanent driver testers, detailed information on the deployment of those testers and allocation of capacity in Cork is held by the RSA.

I have therefore referred the Deputy’s question to the RSA for direct reply and I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Orders.
