Deputy James O'Connor asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation further to Parliamentary Question No. 114 of 26 February 2025, if he will provide an update on a possible timeline for a visit to the location (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. In response to the Deputy’s question, I can confirm that the Office of Public Works will hold a meeting with a delegation from the local community group in the coming weeks to discuss potential access options for Conna Castle.

This engagement will provide an opportunity to explore how the site might be made more accessible to the public, subject to health and safety considerations and conservation requirements.

I have asked my officials to make contact with stakeholders locally to arrange a suitable time for the meeting.
