Deputy Mark Wall asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of gender recognition certificate applications from 2015 to the current year; the number applications which were made by 16- and 17-year-olds; the number of applications which were granted in total and granted by 16- and 17-year-olds, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The latest figures for Gender Recognition Certificate applications are published in the 2023 Annual Report under Section 6 of the Gender Recognition Act 2015, which is available online at Gender Recognition - Annual Reports www.gov.ie/en/department-of-social-protection/collections/gender-recognition-annual-reports/

Figures for 2024 will be in the 2024 Annual Report which is due to be published at the end of this month.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
