While I cannot comment on individual cases, I can confirm to the Deputy that officials in my Department are aware of this case and giving it attention.
For general information, international protection applicants residing in International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) centres are provided with accommodation under Irish and EU law and are not required to make any financial contribution for their accommodation.
Additionally, where a transfer to an alternative accommodation centre is authorised, this is arranged in the first instance by IPAS at no cost to the international protection applicant.
Finally, should international protection applicants have any concerns in relation to any element of their accommodation, they can contact IPAS directly via a dedicated helpdesk at [ipasinbox@equality.gov.ie].
