106. Deputy Brian Stanley asked the Minister for Health when phase two of works and the extension for St. Vincent’s Hospital Mountmellick, County Laois will be approved; the timeline for completion of phase one of the re-development; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [34866/25]

The development of St Vincent’s Community Nursing Unit, Mountmellick is a phased approach. Phase one of this project consists of a new two storey development containing fifty single rooms of en-suite accommodation.

Construction on the new 50 bed Community Nursing Unit, at St Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick is ongoing. It is anticipated that construction is due for completion in Q3 2025, followed by the equipping and commissioning phase.

The next phase of works at St Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick is at an early stage of development. Service requirements are being reviewed at present in order to progress the next phase.
