Deputy Cathal Crowe asked the Taoiseach the value of Irish goods exports in each year from 2020 to 2024 inclusive and the proportion of those exports accounted for by FDI companies and the proportion owing to indigenous enterprises, in tabular form.; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Table B below is from the Trade by Enterprise Characteristics (TEC) release data which relies on matching trade data to the Business Register. Not all the received trade data can be matched to an enterprise on the

business register and consequently around 96% of the value of trade is covered by the Trade by Enterprise Characteristics data.

Trade in goods by type of ownership for year 2024 will not be available until the end of 2025.

Type of ownership indicates whether an enterprise is domestically or foreign controlled. A domestic enterprise is defined as either domestic indigenous or as domestic multinational (with foreign control of less than

50%). A foreign controlled multinational enterprise (MNE) is defined as having foreign control of more than 50%.
