My Department has made €325 million available to our local authorities for their overall social housing second-hand acquisitions activity in 2025.
To date, overall, local authorities have drawdown only 30% of the allocated funding available and no local authority has exhausted its individual allocated funding. The table below outlines the spend to date against the funding allocated under second-hand acquisitions programme for 2025.
My Department continues to work with local authorities to address any challenges which have emerged in order to ensure that tenant in situ acquisitions remain an option in 2025 where no other solutions exist.
