I met with the Asthma Society of Ireland on 4 September, where we had an opportunity to discuss their 2026 Budgetary Submission, including maintenance and reliever therapy inhalers, national reviews of asthma deaths, patient registries, and advanced nurse practitioners.

As the Deputy is aware, funding for all service developments is considered in the first instance as part of the annual estimates process, in the context of overall prioritisation of available funding. This is currently ongoing for 2026. This process seeks to balance available funding across all service areas to achieve the best possible outcomes for the greatest number of service users and prioritise areas of greatest need.
