Deputy Jennifer Whitmore asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage for an update on his Department’s development of a sectoral adaptation plan for the water quality sector, as committed to in the Climate Action Plan 2025 and due in Quarter 3 2025; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerIreland’s second statutory National Adaptation Framework was published by the then Department of Environment, Climate and Communications in June 2024, and was developed under the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act of 2015, which was subsequently amended in 2021.
As statutorily required by the National Adaptation Framework my Department has developed a sectoral adaption plan for Water Quality and Water Services Infrastructure which was submitted to the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment on 30 September 2025.
