742. Deputy Louis O'Hara asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he is aware of delays in issuing passports for horses; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [55095/25]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine

The processing of equine passport applications is an operational matter for the seven approved passport issuing organisations (PIOs). My Department emphasises the importance of timely issuing of equine passports and will engage with PIOs where necessary if unacceptable delays are being experienced.
