I am aware of the closure of this service owing to fire safety issues. While I regret the closure of any childcare facility, child safety and adherence to fire safety regulations must always be paramount. I am aware there have been extensive discussions between the provider and the owner of the building in relation to the matters outlined.

For your information, the local Childcare Committee is engaging with the service in question and with affected families in order to help identify alternative early learning and childcare places.

There are also supports available through the Department via Case Management. Services in contract for Core Funding are eligible for these supports, however, at this time, the provider in question is not in Core Funding.
