View answerThe Government is committed to improving cancer care, ensuring better prevention, maintaining improvements in cancer survival rates, and timely access to treatments. Funding of €27.4 billion is being made available to the health service in 2026. This represents an increase of 6.2% on the funding provided for 2025. A Letter of Determination is currently being prepared and will set out priorities and funding for the HSE next year. This will be the basis on which the HSE will draw up its National Service Plan (NSP) which will set out the services and levels of activity to be provided across the health service including in relation to cancer.
