521. Deputy Joe Neville asked the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport the funding his Department has given to MMA Sports in the past five years; if his department plans to increase this funding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [63254/25]
View answerThe Community Sport Facilities Fund (CSFF) provides grants to assist in the development or refurbishment of sports facilities and the provision of sports equipment.
Under the 2020 and 2023 rounds of the CSFF allocations were made to a number of organisations in respect of martial arts. Of these, one applicant specifically referenced MMA sports and received a provisional allocation of €264,096.
In line with previous rounds of the Fund, a review of the current funding round is being undertaken. I have asked my Department to prepare for a further round of the CSFF in 2026.
