I propose to take Questions Nos. 523, 524, 525 and 526 together.
I met with the organisation referred to by the deputy in April 2025 and my officials met again with the organisation in June.
My Department operates two capital funding programmes for sport, namely the Community Sport Facilities Fund (CSFF) and the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF). Given the likely cost of the project referred to by the deputy, LSSIF would seem to be the most relevant funding programme. The organisation referred to by the Deputy did not apply for funding under the most recent 2024 round of LSSIF.
My current focus is on ensuring project delivery under the first two rounds of the LSSIF (2018 and 2024) and this process will inform any decisions regarding the timing of a future round. No decisions have yet been made regarding the next round of LSSIF.
Sports Ireland is funded by my Department and is the statutory body with responsibility for the development of sport, increasing participation at all levels and raising standards. It also has responsibility for the allocation of funding across its various programmes. However, Sport Ireland has no specific role in the development of headquarters for National Governing Bodies of Sport outside of the Sport Ireland Campus. Nonetheless, I have referred the Deputy's question to Sport Ireland for direct reply in relation to this matter. I would ask the Deputy to inform my office if a reply is not received within 10 days.
