In 2024 38 social welfare payments were stopped and 11 payments in 2025 to date. The overall number and details of deportation orders are a matter for the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration and are not retained by my Department.

I trust that this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.

The Department of Justice regularly notifies my Department with details of persons who are subject to deportation orders. Persons who are subject to a deportation order are ineligible for social assistance payments. They do not satisfy the habitual residence condition as they do not have an unqualified legal right of residence in the State.
