I am informed by the Garda authorities that, as of 21 November 2025, there were 303 vehicles attached to the Garda Road Policing Unit.
The Garda authorities have provided the attached table which shows the number of Roads Policing Vehicles by Division.
An additional eight vehicles have been added to the Road Policing Unit in October 2025. No additional vehicles have been added to the Roads Policing Unit to date in November 2025, as of 21 November 2025.
The purchase and allocation of vehicles by An Garda Síochána
is made on the basis of identified operational demands, the availability of resources and is reviewed on a continual basis.
The Garda Commissioner is responsible under Section 33 of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024 for the distribution and deployment of the Garda fleet across the State.
