Deputy John Connolly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine for an update on the programme for Government commitment to publish a five-year Fisheries Sector Strategy that will include an examination of the processing sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerI have engaged Mr. Kieran Mulvey as a Facilitator to work with seafood representative groups in order to identify and articulate issues, priorities and opportunities for the sector.
This engagement, in addition to my own engagement with the sector, will assist me in setting the Terms of Reference for a Fisheries Sector Strategy next year.
