Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Transport the number of buses currently deployed on the NX service in each direction (Navan-Dublin and Dublin-Navan); the average age and age profile of the buses used on the NX service; the number of bus breakdowns that have occurred on the NX service to date in 2025; the number of these breakdown occasions a replacement bus was provided, and within what timeframe; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
