As set out in the information note published with the draft Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2025, it is proposed that the Corrib will be exempt from the new 2026 angling Bye-law. The reason for this proposed exemption is that parts of the Corrib catchment are considered significant coarse fisheries including Ballyquirke Lake, the Moycullen Lakes and Cloondroon Lake.
