Dáil Éireann Debate, Tuesday - 9 December 2025
1097. Deputy Donna McGettigan asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science his plans to address reports that the national apprenticeship office is understaffed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [69802/25]
View answerStaff in the National Apprenticeship Office are employed by SOLAS, the State agency with responsibility for further education and training. The Department sets the overall staffing numbers for SOLAS. It is then the responsibility of SOLAS to manage and allocate these resources effectively.
The approved staffing numbers for SOLAS in 2026 is 276 Full Time Equivalent (FTE), an increase from 261 FTE in 2025.
