534. Deputy Ken O'Flynn asked the Minister for Social Protection the net change in income in 2026 compared with 2025 for a single adult on disability allowance living alone, taking account of the withdrawal of once off supports in Budget 2025 including the €400 disability cost-of-living payment, the €300 fuel lump sum, the €300 living alone lump sum, the €200 electricity credits and the double week bonuses, and the permanent increases announced in Budget 2026; his Department’s calculation of the total value of once off supports in 2025 for this household type and the value of permanent supports to be received in 2026. The table below outlines the difference in the amounts payable in 2025 and 2026 to a single person in receipt of the maximum personal rate of Disability Allowance, who also qualifies for Fuel Allowance and the Living Alone Increase.

Please note that the only bonus payment made in 2025 was the Christmas Bonus, which was paid on the week beginning December 1st 2025. Other bonus payments were paid in 2024.

The Christmas Bonus payment is approved by Government each year and, as such, a Christmas Bonus in 2026 has not been included in the table below. A decision on a Christmas Bonus in 2026 will be made as part of Budget 2027.
