The introduction of a pensions auto-enrolment system is a Programme for Government commitment, and one of my key priorities. The aim of introducing an Automatic Enrolment (AE) system is to address the pension coverage gap that exists in Ireland, and to help provide for better retirement incomes for workers. The new system will be called 'My Future Fund' and it will launch from the 1st January 2026.
I am satisfied that the National Automatic Retirement Savings Authority (NAERSA) the body which oversees the administration of the My Future Fund and the Revenue Commissioners are working in tandem on the efficient roll out of the auto-enrolment pension for 1 January 2026 and that the system set up for this task is fit for purpose. On the 1st December the My Future Fund Employer Portal was launched. The portal enables employers to register for the scheme and to set up their payment method. To date some 30,000 employers in respect of over 375,000 employees have registered their businesses on the My Future Fund Employers Portal.
Where an employer or agent acting on their behalf encounters difficulties in registration, they may call 01 568 9555 which operates Monday-Friday, 9AM to 6PM (excluding public and bank holidays) or email autoenrolment@welfare.ie and assistance will be provided.
I hope this clarifies matters for the Deputy.
