168. Deputy Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade the number of Irish citizens who have sought assistance from the Irish Embassy and Consulates in China in 2023 and to date in 2025, by year, in tabular form. [71415/25]

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has a long and proud track record of providing high quality consular services to Irish citizens abroad. This is a vital public service and a key priority of my Department.

Consular assistance was provided in 53 cases by our Embassy in Beijing, as well as our Consulates General in Shanghai and Hong Kong since 1 January 2023. The numbers of cases recorded, arranged by year and the Embassy or Consulate which provided the assistance, is outlined below.
