A review process is underway in relation to the Conservation of Pike Bye-Law (No. 809) 2006 and the Conservation and Prohibition on Sale of Coarse Fish Bye-Law (No. 806) 2006.

A public consultation process, to inform the review, was completed by Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) in November. The 214 submissions received are being analysed and IFI intends to publish copies of these submissions on its website in early January.

I look forward to the review process concluding in due course. I will consider the advice and recommendations brought forward by IFI before deciding whether legislative or policy changes are required.
