I am advised that the Defence Forces sought quotes from three suppliers to supply Wind Instruments in November 2025. Only one valid submission was received for this competition, and this contract is currently ongoing.

This approach is in line with Office of Government Procurement Guidelines which directs that contracts below the national advertising threshold of €50,000 (exclusive of VAT), may be awarded on the basis of responses to written specifications (for example, by email) issued to at least three suppliers or service providers.
