View answerThe Department is committed to providing a quality service to all its customers. Claim refusal rates vary across schemes. The majority of applications and appeals are processed centrally and not on a geographic basis, therefore it is not possible to provide a breakdowns of the number of claims refused by payment in Cork; and the number accepted on appeal.
Further detailed information can be found through my Department's statistics landing page, gov.ie/dsp/statistics and in the the Annual Report of the Chief Appeals Officer, ([News and Publications from the Social Welfare Appeals Office (www.gov.ie)].
I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
