Domiciliary Care Allowance is a monthly payment for a child with a severe disability. The payment is not based on the type of disability. It is based on the impact of the disability.

The table(s) below details the number of applications received, awarded, rejected, number of appeal received and number of appeals allowed for Domiciliary Care Allowance each year over the past 3 years.

Not all claims that were rejected resulted in an appeal. It is also important to note that there is a time lag between receiving a claim decision, requesting an appeal, and receiving a decision on an appeal. Therefore claims which were rejected in one year may not receive a decision on an appeal until the following year.
