963. Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Health the number of cases taken against the HSE by people whose family members died from Covid-19 in HSE run nursing homes and hospitals. [71781/25]

The State Claims Agency (SCA) has a statutory remit to manage personal injury and third-party property damage claims on behalf of State authorities including the Health Service Executive (HSE). The SCA has provided me with the information set out below

The information contained within this response was extracted from the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and is correct as at the 15/12/2025. 

The SCA has received 78 wrongful death claims, in respect of COVID-19, recorded across hospitals, nursing homes, HSE locations including community healthcare locations, COVID-19 vaccine programme locations and HIQA.
