156. Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett asked the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment whether he will introduce legislation creating a not-for-profit mandate for the Electricity Supply Board. [73224/25]

ESB is a commercial State body, under the aegis of my Department, established under the Electricity Supply Act 1927. ESB is a body corporate, and a separate legal entity to the Department.

There are no plans to introduce legislation in relation to ESB’s mandate.
