I propose to take Questions Nos. 297 and 298 together.

The overall Exchequer provision to Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) for 2025 is €35,224,000, made up of pay / pension funding of €23,935,000, non-pay current funding of €8,503,000 and capital funding of €2,786,000 to enable IFI carry out its statutory functions.

As regards Exchequer funding for 2026, the estimates have not yet been published but the IFI allocation will broadly be in line with that of 2025.

The allocation of funding for specific projects is an operational matter for IFI and I have no function in this regard. IFI has established a specific e-mail address for queries from Oireachtas members so that queries can be addressed promptly, in line with IFI’s objective to deliver services to the highest standards. The email address is oireachtas@fisheriesireland.ie
