The school referred to by the Deputy was approved to enter the departments pipeline of school buildings for a project to provide a four Classroom SEN base. The project has been devolved for delivery to the school authority.

The project was approved by my Department to progress to Stage 2a (detailed design) in July 2025. The school authority’s design team is now responsible for developing the design and an accurate cost plan that addresses my Department’s Stage 1 comments and recommendations.

All projects, including this one, will undergo the necessary due diligence outlined in the public Infrastructure Guidelines. Managing timing, scope, and cost is crucial to staying within budgetary limits for the overall programme.
