462. Deputy Darren O'Rourke asked the Minister for Education and Youth the position regarding a school building project at a school (details supplied); to provide an indicative timeline for construction; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [73550/25]
View answerThe campus project for the schools referred to by the deputy will include a new 8 classroom primary school and accommodation, including 2 classrooms, for students with special educational needs and a new 1,000 pupil post-primary school and accommodation, including 6 classrooms for students with special educational needs.
The permanent school building project Dunshaughlin CNS & Coláiste Ríoga is part of the Department's Employer Led Design (ELD) programme.
The letter of acceptance (LOA) for the Dunshaughlin campus was issued on the 4th December 2025. which has allowed the contractor to mobilise on site.
Dunshaughlin CNS is currently located in interim accommodation on the Dunshaughlin GAA Site. Coláiste Ríoga is currently located in interim accommodation at the permanent school site. My Department is currently arranging for the provision of additional interim accommodation to meet the schools projected accommodation requirements for the 2026/27 academic year.
My Department will keep the schools and their patron body updated as the project progresses.
