I can confirm to the Deputy the salary scale that applies to the Secretary General in my Department is Secretary General Level II.

The salary scale applicable to Secretaries General are one point scales.

This scale has changed in the past two years in line with Public Sector Pay Agreement 2024-2026 and increases of 1% are due in February and June 2026 in line with the Agreement.

The annual Financial Statements of any given State agency include details of the CEO remuneration for the period covered and are publicly available.

In relation to the head of each commercial agency under the aegis of my Department, the Government commissioned an independent review of CEO salaries. The Senior Post Remuneration Committee review was published in June 2025 and following that, recommended salary bands for each of the 3 commercial agencies under the aegis of my Department were communicated on a confidential basis to my Department. The salary bands are set for three years.

The non-commercial State agencies under my remit have CEO salaries between Assistant Secretary and Deputy Secretary levels which are reviewed with the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation prior to change.
