739. Deputy Albert Dolan asked the Minister for Transport the date on which a supplementary estimate or supplementary estimates was sought in respect of his Department’s Vote for each of the past ten years, and to the date in 2026; the gross and net amount involved in each case; and the Vote subheads to which each supplementary estimate related. Government Departments may need to ask the Dáil for additional (or

supplementary) money to the amount provided for in the approved Estimate for that

year. The procedure for such a request is provided for through Supplementary

Estimates. These typically arise in November of each year. Dáil approval is required in the same

way as for the Revised Estimates.
