Question:

I propose to take Questions Nos. 477 and 478 together.
The information requested by the Deputy is currently being collated and will be forwarded to the Deputy when it is available.
The following deferred reply was received under Standing Orders.
The attached table outlines instances of farmers awaiting income supports at the end of each year, with totals incorporating all support schemes provided by my Department. The numbers relating to individual farmers are not available. A farmer may be counted more than once in the total figures if they are a participant eligible for payment in more than one scheme, which is most cases they are.
For some schemes in 2025, inspection cases are still being processed, and until these cases have their inspection finalised, payments will not issue.
In the majority of cases contained the table, the reason a case is unpaid is that the Department were awaiting information from the applicants or their advisors.
