Please find attached a list of all capital infrastructure projects currently under construction in further and higher education institutions that are in receipt of direct exchequer funding.

The Devolved Capital Grant is also allocated to institutions on an annual basis. The purpose of the Devolved Capital Grant is to provide flexible capital funding to support small-scale building works (including energy efficiency and decarbonisation related upgrades, health and safety works, access works, refurbishment etc.) and equipment purchase or renewal, including ICT.

It is a matter for each individual institutions to decide how the Devolved Capital Grant will be used each year to meet minor capital works needs, refurbishment and renewal of equipment.

My Department also provides a Green Devolved Grant to the ETB sector, this funding has been available from 2024 to 2026 inclusive. This grant is flexible funding to support ETBs in enhancing the operational sustainability of ETB-owned buildings within the FET estate, focusing on low energy consumption, high energy efficiency, and reduced carbon impact.

The Deputy will be aware that institutions may also fund projects directly themselves.
